Who Is WellBet?

WellBet is a newly established Australian online bookmaker.

Founded in 2022, WellBet provides punters with 10+ round-the-globe sporting events, as well as, Horse and Greyhound racing for punters to bet on.

Still fresh to the online sports betting game, WellBet has given punters an easy-to-use and navigate website interface to work with. Everything you may need to access is provided to you on their homepage, which exudes this ‘beachy’ resort aesthetic.

This aesthetic gives punters the feel that they have been transported to a beach resort on a tropical island, playing hand in hand with the idea that gambling is meant to be a fun, leisurely activity.

The fun graphics and colors, however, don’t distract punters from the overall purpose of the website. That is, to bet on your favorite sports and racing events.

The website has the traditional 3-panel layout that you’d find with most online betting agencies. The left has your range of choice in sporting and racing services, the middle provides you with current racing metrics, and your right panel holds your bet slip. Sports offered include NRL betting, AFL betting, Cricket betting, and much more.

Unlike most of WellBet’s competitors, WellBet does not provide its users with the option to live stream and live bet.

This could be due to the company still being fairly new in comparison to most of its competitors. However, as live betting and live streaming are big factors contributing toward punters continuing with a betting agency, WellBet would benefit from adding these to their betting agency services.

The WellBet Sign-Up Process and What Happens After:

The WellBet Sign Up process is straightforward and easy to navigate.

By pressing the ‘Join’ button on the top right corner of the page, you are redirected to the WellBet sign-up process.

Like many other betting services, WellBet requires you to provide:

• Full Name
• Address
• Date of Birth
• Email Address
• Phone number

They further prompt you to create a password, while also giving users the option to opt out of receiving promotional and marketing adverts.

Unlike other betting agencies ‘ processes, you will need to verify your identification as part of the sign-up process. There is an option to skip this step, however, when pressing save and skip the page some malfunctions, and you are unable to actually proceed into your account.

If you refresh the page, you are prompted to log in and then again, redirected to verify your identity.

You will need to provide 2-4 forms of identity, these can include:

• Centrelink Card

Following signing up to the website, nothing changes much to the non-member side of the website. The only major difference I found was now you have the option to go through the promotions page, as well, you have access to more responsible gambling resources.

WellBet Promotions

Currently, WellBet has no promotions running.

They have outlined on their promotions page they have something cooking for their VIP members.

There is no set date as to when this content will be released, but it would benefit WellBet in providing their punters with an update so they don’t lose business.

Further, they have outlined their promotional content terms and conditions. I would highly advise reading through the terms and conditions of all promotional content before applying or signing up for promotional content.

Bonus Bets & Sign-Up Promotions

Unfortunately, under Australian regulation Bonus bets and Sign Up bonuses are a thing of the past. These are not allowed to be advertised under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 and the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

Payment Methods Review

WellBet provides customers with the option to deposit funds via Credit/Debit card.

This is weak in comparison to WellBet competitors who provide an array of payment methods. This makes it easier and makes punters feel more secure with setting deposits. PayPal is coming soon!

Despite this, however, you will not need to set a deposit limit upon signing up.

There is a $10 (AUD) minimum deposit limit.

WellBet has established an app that can be accessed at all times becoming your on-the-go betting service.

This is available across all iOS and Android devices.

This app still has this ‘beachy’, resort aesthetic.

The WellBet app doesn’t differ too much from the website. Following a similar interface, the main page will have current or upcoming racing and sporting metrics, and you can shift through the different sporting, racing, my account and bet slip pages along the bottom of the page.
