Why We Are Tipping South Sydney Rabbitohs To Win

In their last NRL game, the South Sydney Rabbitohs played against the Penrith Panthers (2022 premiership winners). The Penrith are a very strong team and have been a strong team in the NRL for several years now. It was a close game and for the Rabbitohs to only lose by 8 points is a strong indicator they are in for a good season in 2023.

Last week early in the game Souths were on the back foot in defense and not moving up off the line. This allowed the other team to earn some easy early yards. After the halftime break Souths tightened their defense and started moving up of the line, breaking the Panthers’ momentum.

Allowing Souths to put 8 points on the board. We liked that they fought back hard and were able to take instruction from their coach and execute the adjustment necessary to make it a competitive game of rugby league.

Why We Are Not Tipping The Sydney Roosters To Win

Although the Sydney Roosters played descent rugby league last week and won their match. It was not a convincing win and was also against one of the weaker teams in the NRL. They lacked attack and do not appear to be gelling as a team. With lots of missed tackles and dropped balls against a good team the high error rate will be unforgiving.

It was their first win in 2023 and to place a bet on the Roosters in 2023 to win is a big gamble.

The Roosters defence on their own try line is looking ordinary in the last few games and needs to improved. Joey Manu scored two tries and in the centres and wing they do look dangerous.

The forward pack is lacking in attack and defence and do not look match fit yet in 2023.

First Try Scorer Prediction

We are predicting Joseph Manu as the first player to score a trie. He was in good form last week and looks hungry for the ball.
