Manchester City vs RB Leipzig Champions league round of 16 leg 2 (15/03/2023 7:00 am)

Who We Are Tipping To Win

In this match we have Manchester City hosting RB Leipzig in the champions league round sixteen. In the second leg, they are both equal on aggregate. Both teams need to get off to a great start if they want to win but I believe that Manchester City will pull through and beat RB Leipzig.

Manchester City’s team form

Manchester City is performing wonderfully as they sit comfortably in second place five points behind Arsenal. In their last seven they have won five of them and drew two, the wins are as follows: one nil win against Crystal Palace with the goal scorer being Erling Haaland.

A two-nil win against Newcastle United with the goal scorers being Foden and Silva, a three-nil win against Brentford with goal scorers being Foden twice and De Bruyne, four one win against Bournemouth with goal scorers being Álvarez, Haaland, Foden and an own goal by Mepham.

Their final win was against Arsenal ending in a three-one win for Manchester City with the goal scorers being De Bruyne, Grealish, and Haaland.

The draws are as follows: one all-draw against Nottingham Forest with the goal scorer being Silva and a one all draw against RB Leipzig with the only goal scorer being Mahrez.

RB Leipzig‘s

RB Leipzig is in good form as well this season but they don’t have the best form in their last seven matches with them only winning three, drawing two, and losing two.

The wins are as follows three-nil win against M’gladbach with the goal scorers being Werner, Forsberg scored from a penalty, and Gvardiol as well.

A two-one win against Frankfurt with the goal scorers being Werner and Forsberg and a three-nil win with the goal scorers being Forsberg, Laimer, and Szoboszlai.

The draws are as follows: a one-all draw with Manchester City in the first leg of the round of sixteen tie in the champions league with the goal scorer being Gvardiol and a nil-nil draw against Köln and now the losses are as follows: a two-one loss to Union Berlin with the goal scorer being Henrichs and a two one loss to Borussia Dortmund with the goal scorer being Forsberg.

Manchester City’s Player Injuries

Manchester City has no injuries so far but players can get injured during their warmup and or during the team’s training sessions leading up to the game as of now there are no injuries to Manchester City but only time will tell.

RB Leipzig’s Player Injuries

RB Leipzig on the other hand has four injuries:

  1. Diallo Bruised his knee back in January and will return late this month.
  2. Nkunku suffered a hamstring injury early this month and will return back to training and games in early April.
  3. 3. Gulácsi suffered a cruciate ligament injury in October last year and will return back to action in the middle of June.
  4. Schlager suffered a ligament injury early this month and will return back to action around late April. These players are on the injured list. Can this be a bad sign for Leipzig? Only time will tell

Manchester City’s Players To Look Out For

The main players in form for Manchester City are mainly Haaland and De Bruyne, Haaland is the brightest goal scorer for Manchester City this season with his goal tally being at a whopping twenty-eight goals already this season. He is on record to beat the premier league’s most goals in one season record anytime now.

He also has an expected goal rate of a whopping 20.14 which is the highest in the team this season and Kevin De Bruyne has an expected assist rate of 11.43 as he already has twelve assists this season. Both Haaland and De Bruyne look to add to their goals and assist tallies with the upcoming Champions League Round of sixteen Leg two match coming up.

RB Leipzig’s player forms

RB Leipzig most in-form player is Timo Werner right now since Nkunku is injured and has an expected goal rate of 5.99 and an expected assist rate of 1.83. They may not be the highest numbers compared to Manchester City’s Haaland and De Bruyne he is one of the most in-form for Leipzig as he gets involved in every goal that RB Leipzig has scored this season but he is expected to score more goals this season since leaving Chelsea in the summer he has lit up the Bundesliga ever since returning.
