Parramatta Eels NRL Team‘s Journey To Immortality
The Parramatta Eels NRL team is one of Australia’s most successful rugby league clubs.
Winning four premierships in 1981, 1982, 1983 (famous victory against Manly Sea Eagles) and 1986. Their wins are sketched into every NRL fan’s memory.
Known for playing an exciting game, the Parramatta Eels are also famous for their strong defense.
The club has also been the runners-up in 6 Grand Final rugby league games.
The Team’s History
The Parramatta first club was formed in 1947, with their home ground being Cumberland Oval. After the 1981 Grand Final win, the club’s home ground was badly damaged. They then moved to Parramatta Stadium.
It took the team 30 years to win a grand final, in the 1980’s, they went on to win another 3. They totaled 4 grand final wins during the 1980s.
Team Colors
The Parramatta team colors have stayed the same since 1947. Blue, Gold, and White. Although the rugby league team has had multiple variations on their jersey the base colors have stayed the same.
